Programs
Gymkids
The children in this program are introduced to gymnastics in a fun, positive manner. The program separates children according to their ability. Children are placed into four groups after everyone has warmed up and rotate to each coach at four different stations. The class reviews and introduces basic gymnastics skills each week. All apparatus are used for both boys and girls.
Beginner
The basis for this class is the same as all gymnastics classes at SACAC, to teach correct gymnastics in a fun, positive and safe manner. The children start daily with a warm up of runs, followed by complete stretching of all muscle groups. The beginner classes are divided by gender and ability. The children stay with their coach the entire season. The purpose of this is to hae each coach keep track of the development and progression of skills for each apparatus.
Advance Beginner
Students in the Advanced Beginner class can perform the majority of required beginning skills. The focus of this class is to help students improve their form, body control, consistency, and/or behavior in order to successfully transition to the intermediate level. Admittance to this class is by coach invitation only.
Intermediate
This program is for girls’ ages 6 to 9 who have demonstrated above average ability through the Beginner class and an interest in spending more quality coaching in gymnastics. There is no competition associated with this program, but it is more challenging than the beginners program. It is considered the stepping-stone to competitive level. Gymnasts must have a prior approval to enroll in this program.
Advanced
In this level refinement of basic skills and connecting them in developmental series is the focus. Our Advanced Squad is selected from our Beginner, Advanced Beginner and Intermediate programs based on their skills, interest, ability, and good behavior. At this level, it is important to individualize at the instruction to allow gymnast to reach his/her own potential. In this program, gymnasts are required to attend one and half-hour once a week. Any gymnast who is found ready to take part in a competition will be allowed if the coaches believe his/her level is suitable for competition. Gymnasts will be admitted into this program on the recommendation of the Head Coach.
Advanced Recreational
This program is designed for students who have an interest in spending more time at gymnastics activities. In this program the basic skills are similar to the beginners program with a slightly different objective. There is no competition associated with this program, but it is more challenging than the beginners program. The program is helpful in aiding total body fitness and coordination.
Junior Team and Senior Team Competitive Programs
This program is designed for those students who have higher gymnastics skill levels. The students in this program represent SACAC gymnastics in local and international competition.
Power Tumbling
Students in the Power Tumbling class will work on the floor, tumble track, and trampoline to improve their tumbling skills. The class will include conditioning for power tumbling, as well as the moves themselves.

Afterschool Care
After school care is provided free of charge for any SAS student attending a gymnastics class. For Primary School students, the school aide will escort your child to the Intermediate School cafeteria. Intermediate and Middle School students should go to the cafeteria on their own at 3PM. All children attending the 3:15pm class will then be escorted as a group to the auxiliary gym for class. They will not have time to change into their gym clothes. However, in the past, most teachers have allowed the children to change into their gym clothes a few minutes before the aide comes to escort them to the cafeteria. All children attending the 4:15pm and later classes will be supervised in the cafeteria until it is time to escort them to their class. They may purchase a snack and change into their gym clothes while they are waiting.
It is the responsibility of the parent to arrange prompt pick up of their child/ren.
There is no supervised care after class. If your child is in third grade or higher and will be taking the activity bus, it is your child’s responsibility to get to the bus.
If you intend to take advantage of this program, please notify the SACAC Sports Office so that we may include your child on the “after school care” list. Please also send a note to your child’s teacher to let the teacher know the day he/she will be attending gymnastics.
